13 reasons why final trailer

The final trailer for 13 Reasons Why‘s third season explores the mystery behind Bryce Walker’s murder, highlighting several suspects among the show’s cast of high schoolers.

In a two-minute clip released on Wednesday, Bryce’s mother (played by Brenda Strong) appears determined to get to the bottom of her son’s killing.

It then appears that Bryce had made quite a few enemies at Liberty High School, meaning that almost every main character could have had a motive in the slaying.

Jessica Davis (Alisha Boe), Tyler Down (Devin Druid) and Zach Dempsey (Ross Butler) are all highlighted by their classmates as possible killers, before the attention turns to Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette).

While the teenager insists he “didn’t do anything”, authorities appear convinced that he was connected to Bryce’s death – to the point that officers take him into custody at his school.

Tony Padilla (Christian Navarro) also appears to be brought in for questioning.

“Where were you that night, Tony? Can you account for every minute?” Clay asks Tony at one point, suggesting that the narrative of Bryce’s death is more complicated than some might suspect.

The mystery of Bryce’s death is expected to provide much of the backbone of the Netflix show’s penultimate season, which will premiere on 23 August. Katherine Langford, who played Hannah Baker in the first two seasons, will not return this time around.
