Ozzy Osbourne calls 2019 the 'most miserable year of my life'

Ozzy Osbourne has called 2019 the “most miserable year” of his life, nearly a month after his daughter Kelly denied rumours that he was dying.

Osbourne postponed his 2019 tour dates as a result of a life-threatening fall in his bathroom last year, but is preparing to return to the stage.

Speaking to Good Morning America, Osbourne recalled the incident that led to his lengthy recuperation.

“When I had the fall it was pitch black, I went to the bathroom and I fell,” he recalled. “I just fell and landed like a slam on the floor and I remember lying there thinking, ‘Well, you’ve done it now,’ really calm. Sharon ran to get an ambulance. After that it was all downhill.”

Osbourne was reportedly found to have dislodged metal rods in his body in the fall, which he had received following a motorcycle accident in 2003. Previously in 2019, Osbourne was hospitalised for pneumonia, and in 2018 was hospitalised for a staph infection in his right hand.

He described the remainder of 2019 as “the worst, longest, most painful and miserable year of my life”.

Earlier this month, Kelly Osbourne denied speculation that her father was dying, and said that media speculation about his health made her “sick”.

“Today I had a wonderful start to 2020,” she wrote in her Instagram story. “I went out to lunch with my family. Then I spent the rest of the day laughing and hanging out with my dad. I come home to read sickening articles about my dad supposedly being on his deathbed.

“Sometimes the media makes me sick!” she continued. “It’s no secret that my dad has had a rough year when it comes to his health but come the f*** on, this is utter bulls***.”

Osbourne’s rescheduled tour kicks off in May, with its UK leg beginning 23 October in Newcastle.
