Madonna shares version of Eurovision performance - but can you hear the difference?

Madonna has pulled out of three forthcoming concerts on her Madame X tour, citing “overwhelming pain”.

The star wrote on Instagram that she has been forced to cancel her Boston shows due to a mystery ailment.

“Please forgive this unexpected turn of events,” Madonna wrote. “Doing my show every night brings me so much joy and to cancel is a kind of punishment for me.”

She continued, “But the pain I’m in right now is overwhelming and I must rest and follow doctors orders so I can come back stronger and better and continue the Madame X journey with all of you.”

Madonna’s official website has also confirmed that the cancelled performances will not be rescheduled, due to “tight scheduling”. The singer has not elaborated on what is causing the pain.

Refunds will be issued automatically to credit cards on which tickets were ordered. The Boston dates effected were 30 November, 1 December and 2 December.

Madonna previously pulled out of a show in Brooklyn, New York, on 7 October, citing a knee injury.

Earlier this month the singer was sued by a fan for starting her shows too late. In a class action lawsuit against Madonna and her events promoter Live Nation, Nate Hollander claimed that the star has a “long history of arriving and starting her concerts late”, and that he could no longer attend her 17 December concert in Miami Beach, Florida, as a result.

Madonna had sparked controversy on the Madame X tour for beginning concerts as late as 12.30am, despite being billed as beginning at 10.30pm.

She is still due to perform a three-week residency at the London Palladium from 26 January, 2020.
