Toy Story 4: Disney shows first footage at CineEurope
The film comes more than two decades after the original, which was released in 1995
Toy Story 4 is a reality and there's finally proof - for anyone doubting Pixar was actually going to pull this off.
The first footage from the sequel was shown at CineEurope in Barcelona, a conference for cinema exhibitors, with The Hollywood Reporter confirming the return of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and plenty of fan-favourite toys for the film, but little more about what the first look reel actually contained.
With a release date of 21 June 2019, it'll be a while before any of the footage hits the internet, however. Josh Cooley is directing, with a script written by Will McCormack and Stephany Folsom.
The film will arrive after nearly a nine-year gap since Toy Story 3, and more than two decades after the original, which was released in 1995.
Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige also treated the CineEurope audience to some early footage of Captain Marvel, starring Brie Larson, set for release in March of next year, alongside teasing the upcoming Avengers 4, which is yet to receive an official title.
Scenes from Ant-Man and the Wasp were also shown, alongside a dance number from Mary Poppins Returns, the new trailer for Tim Burton's Dumbo, behind-the-scenes looks at the Aladdin and Lion King remakes, alongside an extensive preview of the Wreck-It Ralph sequel Ralph Breaks the Internet.
