Coronavirus: Sam Neill covers Radiohead's 'Creep' on his ukulele
Jurassic Park star has been entertaining fans with updates from his Twitter account
Actor Sam Neill has been delighting fans with his self-isolation videos, and has now offered a cover of Radiohead‘s “Creep“.
“Just butchering another song to encourage people to stay home and find something creative to do, even if it means ruining a Radiohead song, I love Radiohead so much,” he says.
“I love that song, it’s for all the people like me who weren’t in the first 15, we weren’t in the cheerleader squad... we just wanted to be special!” he says.
“I know so many of us are afraid and anxious at the moment, but don’t be afraid, don’t be anxious,” he continues. ”We’ll get through this thing, and we’ll probably be a bit tethered and torn at the end of it, but we will get through.
“It’s easy to spiral down into, ‘What’s the worst thing that could happen,’ but I’m encouraging you to spiral up and think, ‘What’s the best thing that can happen?’ We’ll come out and the sky will be blue, and people will love each other. And everything will be fine.”
While Neill has posted a number of updates about pursuits at home during the coronavirus outbreak, a favourite is his decision to pick up the ukulele again.
Earlier this month, he covered Randy Newman’s “Dayton, Ohio – 1903”, which was followed by Cole Porter’s ”I Get a Kick Out of You”.
Neill is one of a number of celebrities doing their bit to support the fight against coronavirus.
Some, such as Stevie Nicks and Dolly Parton, have been sharing uplifting videos and positive messages.
Others, like Rihanna, have donated money or essential items including medical equipment to their local communities.
In a recent video, Contagion stars Kate Winslet and Matt Damon issued public service announcements that shared the latest health advice from scientific experts.
