Oscars 2019: Nominations for Best Picture

The 91st Academy Awards are being held tonight (24 February 2019) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

The ceremony is the biggest night in film, and you're sure to see many of your favourite stars arriving in style on the red carpet before taking their seats to find out who will take home the prizes for Best Actress, Best Original Song, Best Picture and more.

If you're watching from home, there are plenty of ways you can keep up with all the action online, on TV and on social media.

The evening will be broadcast live on ABC in the US and on NOW TV and Sky in the UK.

Sky Cinema (renamed Sky Cinema Oscars) will air for the entire evening, beginning at 10pm in the UK with red carpet arrivals. Sky1 will broadcast an hour of coverage, hosted by Alex Zane, at midnight. This will be titled Oscars 2019: Red Carpet Live.

To watch the ceremony itself, you’ll need to return to Sky Cinema Oscars and Now TV between 1am and 4am to find out who takes home the biggeset awards of the night. Highlights will be shown on Monday 25 February at 8pm on Sky Cinema Oscars, and at 9pm on Sky1.

NOW TV offer a Sky Cinema Pass costs £9.99 a month – although you can get a 14-day free trial if you’re a new customer, and you can always cancel the subscription once the event is over.

For US viewers, the Oscars will be available to watch on ABC with red carpet coverage kicking off at 6:30pm ET/3:30pm PT followed by the ceremony itself at 8pm ET/5pm PT.

You can also watch a live stream on ABC.com and the ABC app but only in select markets in America.

Remember that The Independent’s Culture team will be also liveblogging the night on our website, where you will be able to get all the latest updates, news, pictures and video in one place.
