Former Playboy model accuses Oliver Stone of groping her after Weinstein controversy

Oscar-winning actress Patricia Arquette says she 'felt weird' about a meeting with the Wall Street director

Oliver Stone was accused of groping a former Playboy model just hours after he spoke out in defence of disgraced film mogul Harvey Weinstein.

The allegation has not been substantiated and The Independent has contacted Stone for comment.

Stone received a backlash after claiming that Weinstein had been condemned by a "vigilante system" and said "it's not easy what he's going through".

The Wall Street director later backtracked and issuing a "clarification" after being criticised for his comments.

Issuing a statement he said: "I've been travelling for the last couple of days and wasn't aware of all the women who came out to support the original story in the New York Times.

"After looking at what has been reported in many publications over the last couple of days, I'm appalled and commend the courage of the women who've stepped forward to report sexual abuse or rape."

He added that he would leave the Guantanamo series while The Weinstein Company was still involved.

However, just hours after he made the original claim about Weinstein, Playboy model Carrie Stevens issued a statement on social media.

"When I heard about Harvey, I recalled Oliver walking past and grabbing my boob as he walked out the front door of a part [in the 90s]. Two of a kind!"

Oscar-winning actress Patricia Arquette also shared an alleged experience with the Hollywood director after he defended Weinstein.

In a thread of 13 tweets she claimed he began talking to her about doing a "very sexual" movie.

She said a meeting was kept professional but later "felt weird" when he sent her long-stemmed roses.

She claimed she received a phone call from his assistant to make sure she received the gift, and was then offered an invitation to a screening of Natural Born Killers.

"Something felt weird so I asked my boyfriend to go with me," she wrote. "The room was packed. Oliver stopped me coming out of the bathroom.

"He said: 'Why did you bring him?' I said: 'Why is that a problem I brought him? It shouldn't be a problem. Think about THAT Oliver."

Arquette's claims have not been substantiated.

The Independent has contacted Stone for a comment addressing the allegation by Stevens.

Stone is an acclaimed screenwriter, producer and director, and has won several Academy Awards for his work.
