James Bond 25: Daniel Craig's US TV series Purity delayed because of 007
Just in case you needed any more confirmation that Craig will return as the spy
While there’s been no confirmation over who will play James Bond in the upcoming 25th film, seemingly everyone under the sun knows Daniel Craig will be back.
For anyone that needed more confirmation, the American TV network Showtime has revealed that the series Purity, starring Craig, has been delayed due to Bond.
"He's doing Bond first and I can't say anything about what I know or don't know about Bond, [but] It's possible it may not shoot until 2019," Showtime CEO David Nevins told reporters, as noted by The Hollywood Reporter.
Rumours recently swelled regarding Craig’s involvement with the project — which was previously believed to be reaching airwaves in 2018.
However, Nevins confirmed that Craig will likely stay attached to the project, adding how the actor will appear in “most” of the two-season, 20-episode series.
The eight contenders to be the next James Bond
Show all 9Meanwhile, Craig has reportedly signed on for two separate Bond films, producer Barbara Broccolli wanting to bring his total number of 007 outings to six.
Despite no official confirmation, Christoph Waltz and Dave Bautista are both expected to return as villains while Naomie Harris (Miss Moneypenny), Ben Whishaw (Q) and Rory Kinnear are all set to return.
In the running to replace Sam Mendes as director following Skyfall and Spectre are Yann Demange ('71), David Mackenzie (Hell or High Water) and Arrival's Denis Villenueve whose Blade Runner sequel arrives in cinemas this October.
It was revealed last month that producer Broccoli was “determined” to bring back Adele to record another Bond theme following her Oscar-winning lead track for Skyfall.
