Brand-new Captain Marvel spot aired during the Super Bowl game

A new Captain Marvel teaser trailer has been unveiled during the 2019 Super Bowl.

Brie Larson, who is making her debut as Carol Danvers, features prominently in the 30-second clip.

The former US Air Force fighter pilot turned mighty superhero can be heard saying the catchphrase "Higher, further, faster" as the video teases more of Captain Marvel's backstory.

Jude Law, who plays her mentor and the captain of the elite Kree military unit Starforce, also makes an appearance.

Samuel L Jackson also features as a gleeful Nick Fury (the future director of SHIELD), further teasing links between Brie's Captain Marvek and the Avengers.

Captain Marvel is set to be released on 8 March.

In addition to Brie, Law and Jackson, the superhero film stars Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, and Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva.
