Captain Marvel: 'Don't Give Up' - trailer

Brie Larson has chimed in with her support for the idea of an all-female Avengers film.

Thor: Ragnarok star Tessa Thompson, who plays Valkyrie in the film, previously said that a group of actresses had come together to pitch the idea of a team-up film.

“I think in that group was Brie Larson, myself, Zoe Saldana — although she ran off to the bathroom, I think, so she came midway through the pitch but she had been in the rev-up to it — Scarlett Johansson. Pom [Klementieff] and Karen [Gillan] who are both in the Guardians movies. Yeah, I think it was that group,” she said.

Although Larson, who stars as Captain Marvel in the character’s new solo film, hasn’t clarified whether she was present during the conversation, she did reveal her feelings on the topic to ScreenRant.

“I’m scared and I don’t know what the future holds either. I’m not let into those top-secret meetings, so we’ll see,” she said. “We’ll see what happens. I love all the female characters so much.”

“So, of course, like, that’s what I’m interested in. I’m super into an all-female Avengers movie. Yeah, I think that would just be, it would just be cool to see all of them interact together.”

Captain Marvel is released in UK cinemas on 8 March.
