The directors of Avengers: Endgame have detailed a deleted scene featuring two main characters.

Joe and Anthony Russo revealed to EW that they cut a moment between Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) that happens towards the film's conclusion.

**Spoilers for Avengers: Endgame ahead**

After the eponymous superhero team defeat Thanos and resurrect the dusted Avengers, Thor decides to leave with the Guardians of the Galaxy. the God of Thunder also takes a moment to hand over leadership of New Asgard to Valkyrie.

“In the ending, we wanted to keep it tight, so we were looking for things to squeeze there,” Anthony Russo said. “But he had this beat with Valkryie where she puts her arm on his shoulder and he sort of starts to lean in for a kiss. She goes, ‘What are you doing?’”

“[Thor says] ‘Oh, I thought that touch…’ and she was like, ‘No, that was, like, a goodbye tap I was giving you,’” the director continued. “It was a really funny beat, but we cut it.”

Joe Russo added: “It was really cute. And it was mostly improvised by the two of them, so it was very funny.”

Avengers: Endgame recently beat James Cameron's Titanic at the box office, the Russo brothers' film having now grossed $2.273 billion internationally. Cameron has since celebrated Avengers' achievement with a cartoon.
