Tiffany Haddish has apologised to fans after facing every comedian’s worst nightmare, bombing during her New Year’s Eve stand-up show at the James L Knight Center in Miami.

The Girls Trip star struggled to remember her material on the night, with many of the jokes she did deliver failing to land properly, prompting a string of walkouts, according to Deadline.

Audience members then took to social media to express their frustration using the hashtag #SheNotReady, a play on her famous catchphrase: “She ready”.

“She wasn’t funny, it was hard to watch. Her jokes bombed started asking people in the front row if they had questions. Then she said people not good on their job everyday. #SheNotReady,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

Haddish acknowledged that the evening hadn’t gone as planned on Twitter, writing: “Yes this happened. I wish it was better Miami. I prayed on it and I have a strong feeling this will never [happen] again.”

She had previously admitted to partying the night before until 7am in a video posted to Instagram, where she said: “Not gonna lie…I’ve been partying all night. I’ve been partying all morning…I can still feel the Ciroc in my system.”

Fellow comedians jumped in to offer their support to Haddish, pointing out that bombing is a standard part of the job.

“This is the price of fame when you’re a comic,” wrote Kathy Griffin. “I was so lucky that there wasn’t a Snapchat/IG when I was starting out on my first big tour. No REAL comic never bombs. You are a hilarious, incredible talent @TiffanyHaddish and I can’t wait to see you live! Ignore the haters!”
