Ever wondered what your favourite tipple would look like under a microscope? No, we hadn’t either. But American scientist Michael Davidson did.

Davidson looked at Champagne, vodka, whisky and other beverages in the laboratory and discovered that the molecular make-up of alcohol was aesthetically pleasing.

His discovery led to the founding of BevShots, a company which sells prints of art made from beer, wine and other drinks.

So, in case you’re interested in what your vodka and tonic looks like close up, we’ve put together a gallery of some of the most interesting “molecular expressions” of booze.
